My other favorite movie of all time is LotR (Lord of the Rings) Itz so awesome. I mean, the drama, the props and the actors and actresses. My favorite actress is Cate/ Galadriel. she's beautiful and very talented. I couldn't say who my favorite actor is because I love them all; from Gimli to Frodo to Sam to Arragorn etc. They are all amazing and incredibly sexy. The Trilogy is just incredible and I would watch those movies over and over again. All I can say is "WoW" Can't forget GOLLUM! hez the best...."My precious..." ;D ;D

OH HELL YEAH!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D In my book, the LotR movies are the best movies of ALL time. I'm fuggen obsessed with not just the movies but the books and the whole world that Tolkien created. I swear, that man was a genius. A motherfookin genius. I could go on and on and ON about what makes these movies and books so great, but I won't. I already did on Meghan's messageboard and I clicked "post" and it said my message was too long so I lost it all *Anyway*...a lotta characters from LotR are near and dear to me. I've always had this inexplicable affinity with Boromir. Guys ((and girls)), he really wasn't some evil, sadistic b.stard. He was, as you'll find out in the TTT Extended Edition and/or RotK, his father's favorite son. His father is Denethor, the steward of Gondor, and his brother is Faramir who you see in TTT. Gondor is on the brink of being catapulted into the War of the Ring. Denethor is going slightly mental ((even more so in ROTK, as you'll all find out)) and the kingdom is failing. Boromir only wants his kingdom, his land, to go back to the glorious one that it once was. His father looks to him to make things right, and he wants desperately to do so, but he's at a loss of how to do this. When he comes by the Ring, he thinks that it holds the key to restoring Gondor. And then the saddest part is that he dies on Amon Hen, defending Merry and Pippin ((partly out of guilt for having tried to take the Ring from Frodo)) and he dies believing that his kingdom will fall, that his city will come to ruin. It's heartbreaking, to me at least. *Ehem* I love Aragorn's character, too. He was portrayed flawlessly by Viggo Mortensen. Eowyn is also AWESOME. And to everyone saying she's just a blonde chick trying to get some of Aragorn, come off it. She kicks arse in the third movie! You just wait ^__^ My favorite Tolkien character of all time, however, isn't in The Lord of the Rings. Rather, she's in a lot of the books that Tolkien wrote later on about the history of Middle Earth. The character is Luthien Tinuviel the elf. Her story is a sad one, though it ends somewhat happily I s'pose. It's an epic story of love; I just love it! She is related to Arwen as well. In fact, many of the books say that the elves believed Arwen to be a reincarnation of Luthien's beauty. They are also akin in their choice to fall in love with a mortal man. And the decision they make is the same, though the circumstances surrounding Luthien's story are different. It's way too complex to explain here, but if you're interested, The Silmarillion tells lots about Luthien and Beren's story, as do other books. TS also tells about the whole creation of Middle Earth, and all the wars and history that happened before the War of the Ring. It rules. Aaaand...I'm done. I think.

Hehe, "Little Mermaid, Little Mermaid, Little Mermaid, Little Mermaid.... Merlin"
Sorry, that just made me laugh ^_^
Yeah, LotR is cool. And, Boromir is a bastard. But, this is in comparison to the rest of the fellowship. As human standards go, he surpasses most of humanity by ways of caring, compassion, and empathy. I know he tried to steal the ring for a moment in time, but I dare you to put any modern man in that position, even the most caring and loveable, and see how long he lasts until he tries to steal that ring. And, like Camilly said, it WAS a promised [or so we think!] renewal for his kingdom. He really was a goodman. A bit more "giving-in" to his desires than the rest of the fellowship, but still a gazillion times better than any other human to live.
CCD... I didn't like that, sorry

Yep, I am indeed a member of A&F ^__^ *high fives GF* Lord of the Rings rules. ***SPOILERS AHEAD*** Anyway, yeah I heard that about the scouring of the Shire being left out as well. It's a shame really, but what can you expect? I don't think RotK will be any shorter than 3 hours, so can you imagine if they kept to everything in the book? Admittedly, the scouring of the Shire is a rather big event ((or series of events, more like)), but that's just it: it would just make the movie too long. But perhaps we can expect it on the RotK Extended Edition? I hope so... :-\ ***END SPOILERS*** Massive props ((Elijah quote ^^)) to Peter Jackson, cast and crew for all their work on Lord of the Rings. They really did an amazing job. I think the best thing to do at this point is not have expectations. I went to see FotR with no expectations whatsoever, as I had never read the books then and I really didn't know anything about Lord of the Rings. I walked out of the theater in a stunned awe and gushed over that movie endlessly afterwards. After that I started to obsess over LotR, read the books, learned everything I could on Tolkien's ingenius work. I went to see TTT with high expectations, and though the movie turned out absolutely fantastic, I felt a tiny bit let down for some reason. My expecations were obviously too high. Therefore, I'm vowing not to have any expectations for RotK. It's just better that way.

Some time ago it was said or I read iot somewhere that PJ had done some of the editing and had got down to 4hrs and 16mins of RotK and at that point was finding it hard to cut anything else!! Of course He's gotta cut it down even more because most normal movie goers only want to be sitting there for 2/3 hours tops and so it being a long film would put them off!!! Me, I hope its a long film because it means that in theory theres more of the book in there!! Although they have got Shelob in there from TTT!! I know PJ had changed some part to the story like giving Arwen a bigger part and replacing Glorfindel with her, but I think that he did that so theres more of a female aspct in there ** The Love Story** that will keep some of the female fans watching...along with the very large array of hotties, ahem Elijah... It also adds to the build up and shows how great the foe is if she givesup her immortality for him blah blah!! Yeh course Im following the A&F rules cant break old habits, plus I dont want to ruin it for anyone who doesnt want to know about the film because then you'd all hate me!! Peace out TGF

Lol TGF, I went to see Master and Commander the other day ((veeery good movie, btw)) and there was a warning notice at the ticket stand that said, "WARNING: Lord of the Rings is 3 1/2 hours long, with no intermission." I was giddy with joy, while my dad found the whole thing bittersweet because while he does like the movies very much, I don't think he's bouncing up and down to sit for that long (('cause I make my whole family watch the LOTR movies, and they do like them )). Anyway... *whew* Three and a half hours. That means the entire trilogy combined is roughly...nine and a half? Oh my rumness...that's a lot. And just think of the extended versions!
